Installation of Access Panels

Benefits
Access panels should be installed at regular intervals, enabling the interior to be cleaned to minimise any potential fire hazards caused by the build-up of residual grease within the ventilation ducting, and at the same time protecting expensive catering equipment. Airflow will also be improved helping to maintain comfortable working temperature/conditions.

Access panels have been tested and approved by the BSRIA (The Building Services Research and Information Service), a copy of which can be provided if required. Access panels are comprised of a metal frame with rubber gaskets with an insulated removable door secured by cam fasteners. Trained ducting engineers will ensure work carried out will be to the highest standard.

Due to insufficient numbers of access points to the ducting interior, panels will be fitted as listed:

  1. Fitting of the first access panel will be one metre away from the canopy, followed by one metre intervals.
  2. Suspended ceiling panels will be removed to gain access to the ducting, but no building work will be carried out.
  3. Motor housing and fan blades, if accessible, will be cleaned by installing an access panel either side. Additional access panels will be installed to the motor housing outlet side. Extraction grill will be removed, cleaned and replaced.
  4. The client is responsible to ensure that the ducting engineer has access to all relevant areas, otherwise the work cannot be carried out, but our invoice will be unaltered.
